When an Alternative is Desired…

ANSWERING YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT CREMATION

Over the last decade, more families have been choosing cremation as the final arrangement for themselves or a loved one. Most religious affiliations now permit cremation as an acceptable form of internment.

The history of cremation is thousands of years old. Viewed by most cultures around the world as both respectful and spiritual, cremation is quickly becoming a viable choice for many families in the western world.

Planning Final Arrangements is Never an Easy Task…

We Can Help.

The Walnut Grove Crematory

Is a non–denominational, state–of–the–art facility that has provided cremation services for many families throughout central Connecticut.

Beautifully constructed on a knoll surrounded by mature trees and conifers, the crematory building is outfitted with a receiving area, a comfortable family reception area, and the most modern retort units that are available today. Hospital–like in its appearance, the room in which the cremations take place is bright and impeccably clean. Each cremation is performed within the guidelines of one′s religious beliefs, if so desired, and handled individually with the greatest respect. After the cremation, we can work in conjunction with your funeral director to assist you with a number of options such as urn selection, burial of the cremains, and monument or marker selection and installation.

By providing families with information concerning cremation, we enable them to make intelligent decisions surrounding those all important, final arrangements for themselves or a loved one.

Designed with a Sensitivity for the Specific Needs of Family and Friends…

The Walnut Grove Crematory Reception Room

Exquisitely decorated and complemented with soft lighting, the room serves as both a planning area for final arrangements and a reception area for family and friends of the deceased on the day of cremation.

The room is equipped with a large curtained window that can be opened if a family member wishes to witness the cremation. It can remain closed if the family does not desire this option but wishes to be present at the time of the event. ADA–specified bathroom facilities are located directly off the reception room for the family′s convenience. Close proximity parking and easy access entry complete the overall comfortable environment.

Whether it be a question concerning the process of cremation or a request for direction on the day of the event, Walnut Grove Crematory makes available trained personnel to aid in all aspects of a client′s needs. Experienced in grief management, they are able to provide families with a comforting hand of guidance prior to, during, and after the cremation.
